Responsibilities

Legal Research and Analysis: Conduct legal research on environmental laws, regulations, and precedent cases. Analyze findings to support ongoing litigation and policy advocacy efforts.
Assistance in Litigation: Provide support to CER attorneys in drafting legal documents, including pleadings, briefs, and motions. Assist in case preparation and strategy development.
Policy Advocacy Support: Assist in monitoring environmental policies and regulations. Contribute to the development of advocacy materials, policy briefs, and submissions to governmental bodies.
Community Outreach: Engage with communities affected by environmental issues. Assist in organizing community workshops, events, and educational initiatives.
Administrative Tasks: Provide general administrative support to the CER team, including data entry, filing, and organizing documents.

Qualifications

Currently enrolled in or recent graduate of a law, environmental science, policy, or related program.
Strong interest in environmental issues and social justice.
Excellent research and analytical skills.
Effective written and verbal communication abilities.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with legal research databases is a plus.
